three trees

Once there were  three trees on a hill. They often discussed their hopes and dreams. The first said: “Someday I hope to be a treasure chest.I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems.I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see my beauty.”

The second tree said:  “Someday I will be a mighty ship and i will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world.Everyone will feel safe during the journey because of the strength of my null.”

The third tree said: “I want to grow to be the tallest and a straightest tree in the forest.People will see me on the top of the hill and will think how close I am to God and heavens.I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me.”

A few years later, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees, one woodsman said :”This looks like a strong tree,I think  I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter.,”he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.

At the second tree the woodsman said: “This looks like a strong tree,I should be able to sell it to the shipyard”.The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was dismayed because if they cut him down,he would never realize his dream. The woodsmen said:”I don’t need anything special,so I’ll take this one,”and he cut it down.

From the first tree, the carpenters made a feedbox for animals which placed in a barn and filled with hay.The second tree was used to make a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship carrying royalty were dashed to the ground. The third tree was cut into large pieces and stored in a dark place.

Years went by and the trees forgot about their dreams. Then one day, a man and a woman came to the barn. The woman gave birth and they placed the baby on the hay in the feedbox made from the first tree which they found in the manager. The tree realized he was cradling the greatest  treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men set off  in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and fell asleep.Soon a great storm arose and the tree didn’t think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men roused the sleeping man awake and he stood up and said “Peace” and the storm stopped. The second tree(now a boat )knew now that he had carried the King of  Kings across the water. Finally, someone came and got the third tree.It was carried through the streets and people mocked at the man who was carrying it.When they stopped, the man was nailed to the tree(now shaped like a cross)and was raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. The third tree came to realize hat it was strong enough to stand at the top of the  hill ans was as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.

So when things don’t seem to be going your way, always k now that God ha s a plan for you.If you place your trust in Him.He will give you great gifts.

Each of the trees got what they wanted, though not in the way they had imagined. We don’t always know what God’s plan are for us.Even if  His ways are not our ways, they are always the best.

egoTalk or emoTalk

Filed under: myFeels — joykumardas @ 6:31 am

With egoTalk  i  mean the conversation that we usually do from head, which has nothing to do with warmth of our heart.egoTalk is normally informative. This is normally helpful to live with the outside world and to choose alternate options.

On the other side, emoTalk  means the conversation that conveys the warmth of our heart.emoTalk conveys our inner feelings withwords as accuratly as possible, those words tries to express our inner feelings as closely as nearly  as possible .These creates a different  environment when conversed with someone.emoTalk nurtures our inner friendliness with which  we can know ourself better. From my perspective ego is our information center and emo is our emotional center. Walking through life needs waking  through both the centers.

So  can we be awake to our self-talks and notice them as egoTalk or emoTalk ?.

Rooted Tree

If you are rooted in love, you are rooted

There is no other way to be rooted

You can have money, you can a house, you can have security, you can have a bank balance;those things will not give you rootedness. They  are  just  substitutes, a poor substitute for love. They may increase your anxiety even more, because once you have physical security-money,  a  social status-you became more and more afraid that these things may be taken from you.Or you become worried about having more and more of these things, because discontent knows no limit. And your basic need was of being rooted.

Love is the earth where one needs to be rooted.Just as trees are rooted in the earth, human beings are rooted in love. Our roots are invisible,so anything visible is not going to help.Money is very visible, a house is very visible, social status is very visible. But we are trees with invisible roots. You will have to find some invisible earth-call it love, call it godliness, call it prayer-but it is going to be something like that, something invisible, intangible, elusive, mysterious. You cannot catch hold of it.On the contrary, you will have to allow it to catch hold of you.
